"Uh...Running Hearts I Guess?"

Event 7 (Flight B)
Level 13 (800/1,600/200)
Total Entries: 198
Players Remaining: 52
Chip Average: 76,000
Alex Houle (Gore, ME)
Every poker player has experienced it, making a call with a big hand, thinking you're either ahead or at least drawing to a better hand, only to see your opponent turn over the nuts, leaving you either looking for outs or looking for the tournament area exit.

Alex Houle (Gore, ME) was just in that exact situation as he was involved in a hand with an unknown player and would move all-in on a board of [3d][5h][4s] and his opponent would snap call, usually not a good sign if you only hold Ace high...

Alex would look across the table to see his opponent throw down [6c][7s] for a flopped nut straight and Alex, questionably tabled his [Ah][Qh] and said, "Uh...running hearts I guess...?"

Everyone at the table kind of shrugged it off, but Alex's opponent was wary saying, "Trust me, if it can happen it does against me."

With Alex calling his shot and his opponent having less than a confident outlook on the hand, the board ran out just how the 'bad beat Gods' would write it up, with the [9h] falling on the turn and the [4h] spiking on the river to give Alex a winning runner-runner flush.

His opponent couldn't believe it and would stand and do a few laps around his seat to cool off, while Alex was almost in the same amount of shock, starting the hand with just over 40,000 and now playing close to a 100,000 after hitting the only runout that could save his tournament life.

"Getting it in bad and winnings, yeah I'm kind of good at that." Alex would joke and while we're not going to defend his play or support moving in with Ace high and a backdoor flush draw against a flopped straight, if he can win when he's doing that, just imagine how hard he'll be to beat when he actually does have a made hand.

Players are now halfway through Level 13, meaning there is just over an hour and fifteen minutes remaining in Flight B.
