Event #1, Flight B Concludes

With 13:54 minutes left in Level 18 (2,500/5,000 blinds and a 500 ante), two players were eliminated on the bubble, leaving 32 players to advance to Day 2 from this flight.

The player that started the hand with the most chips will still min-cash as 33 players from this flight made the money.  That player is Mark Bulbulian. Because we do not have the prizepool yet, Mark will have to wait until Wed. to find out how much he cashed for. But in a seemingly unprecedented situation, we have our first casher of this event, before the prizepool is even determined.

We will bring you a full list of names and chip counts in the next hour or so.

Both Events #3 and Event #1, Flight B Now Hand for Hand

Event #3 will play to a conclusion tonight, and Event #1, Flight B will bag up and return to play Day 2, all in the money, on Wed. March 22nd at 12:00 noon.

Just before the start of the break Marsel Backa took a huge hit to his stack. As the blog staff approached the table the dealer was counting down a player's stack and the board in the middle read AQJ♣8♣3♠.

Backa had 10♣9♣ sitting in front of him (in middle position), and his opponent, Ryan Martin had K♣10 sitting in front of him (in the big blind).

As the dealer continued to count the player's stack, Backa filled us in on some of the details.  Apparently the two players got it all in on the turn.

"I turned an open ended straight flush draw, I'm never going anywhere," Backa said.

Martin said, "You were the most active player at the table, I was just waiting to take one from you."

"Yeah, well, you needed a cooler like that to win one from me," Backa responded.

Marsel Backa- 40,000

Event #3 ($300 HOSE) - Are the Ladies Taking Over?

"The Ladies Table"
Anyone that says mixed game events are predominantly for men, needs to look no further than table 16! Four of the eight players at this table are female (seats 2, 4, 5, and 6). There are also numerous other females in the field today, and at the present, they total ten of the 77 total entries.

Event #3 ($300 HOSE) - Photos and Previous Champion Bios

Jonathan Berger Won the Foxwoods HOSE Event back in 2016 in the World Poker Finals Series. He is back here today to try for a repeat win in an event he clearly feels more than comfortable playing.
Joe Heinzmann is also searching for his second Foxwoods HOSE victory in today's Event. Heinzmann previously won the $300 HOSE trophy in the World Poker Finals Series back in October of 2015
Fresh off of his final table appearance in last night's $300 7-Card Stud event, Lenny Cortellino is taking his shot in today's HOSE field. While Cortellino has yet to win a mixed game tournament here at Foxwoods, he is no stranger to the game, and currently has over $1,500,000 in live tournament earnings to his name. Cortellino has two Foxwoods victories, having taken down the $5,200 No-Limit Hold'em World Poker Final Event in November of 2005 for $377,175, and also the $350 Mega Stack event back in December of 2016 for $23,375.

Jack D'Agostino took down Event #2 ($300 7-Card Stud) in the early hours this morning. Fresh off of his victory, he is back in action today in hopes of winning back to back event here in the Foxwoods Poker Classic series.
