Russell Crane Wins the $1,000 Deep Stack Event!

Russell Crane is the champion of the $1,000 No-Limit Hold 'em Deep Stack event at the 2011 Foxwoods Poker Classic.

Russell takes home the trophy, leather jacket and $37,308.

Russell Crane raised to 65,000 before the flop and Will Failla made the call. The flop came [9s][8s][3h] and both players checked. The turn was the [Tc] and Failla bet out 75,000. Crane raised to 180,000 and Failla moved all in. Crane made the call and they turned over:

Will "The Thrill" Failla Wins with Aces vs. Aces


Will "The Thrill" Failla

Will Failla and his opponent got into a raising war before the flop and got all the chip in the middle. When they turned their cards over, both player had pocket aces.

The flop came down with two clubs and Failla held the ace of clubs. He yelled, "FREEROLL!!!" and proceeded to bink a club on both the turn and the river.

His ace high flush took the pot to eliminate his opponent and boost Failla's stack up to over 40,000 early on Day 1 of the $1,000 NLHE event.
