Robert Courtney Winner of Event #14 ($400 NLH Seniors)

After a chop deal was made, and a final hand involving [as][qh] against his opponent's [qs][2d], Robert Courtney was declared the winner of Event #14.  He will take home the title, the trophy, and $11,507.

Courtney showed [as][qh], and Griffith said, "How do you have a queen here?" as he turned over [qs][2d].

"I knew the twos were live, that's why I shoved with this hand," Griffith said with a giggle.

The board ran out [js][6h][4s][9h][3d] to eliminate Griffith in second place.

Chop Deal Made, Big Hand Occurs Immediately

In the midst of a hand, the final two players agreed to a chop deal where they would each take $10,000, and then play for the trophy and the remaining $1,507.

With the flop reading [js][8s][4h], Robert Courtney is all in and Warren Griffith has called.

Griffith is in the lead with a pair of eights holding [8h][3h], but Courtney has a flush draw holding [9s][5s].

Courtney turns even more outs when the [10c] hit on the turn.

The [7h] river gave Courtney the straight and left Griffith short with only 200,000 left.

Michael Capo Doubles Through Robert Courtney (Seniors Event)


On a board reading [10h][4s][kd][js], Michael Capo was all in and called by Robert Courtney.

Courtney had flopped a set holding [4h][4d], but Capo had turned Broadway holding [as][qh].

The [7s] came on the river, and Capo was awarded a full double up.  He is now sitting with 1,015,000 in chips.
