Dave Stefanski 144,800
Steve Happas 69,000
Aaron Smith 52,500
Raj Patel 42,000

Ryan Eriquezzo 33,000
Mark Dube 18,000

Flight B has just begun play.

1st Place: Chad Brown ($29,100)

The board read [7c][6d][Ac], and James Campbell was all in holding [Ah][9s] and was up against Chad Brown's [9h][8h]. The [5c] turn completed Chad's straight, but James had a gutshot to a bigger straight. The [Jd] river meant Chad would win the hand. The stacks were counted down, and it was confirmed that Chad had James covered. James will exit the tournament in 2nd place for $17,984.

Chad Brown has won his first WSOP Circuit ring, along with $29,100 for 1st place. Congratulations, Chad!

2nd Place: James Campbell ($17,984)

James Campbell doubles up three times to even the stacks

Chad Brown had James Campbell on the ropes, and James was all in with ten-eight against Chad's ace high. James turned a straight to double up and survive.

A few hands later, again Chad had James in bad shape with queens to eights, and again James found a straight on the river.

For a third time, Chad had James all in. This time James had ace-six to Chad's eight-seven. The ace high held up, and James will double up to 586,000, now only slightly behind Chad's 774,000.

Chad Brown doubles through James Campbell to take the chip lead

Chad Brown was all in preflop holding [Qs][Jc] and was flipping with James Campbell's [9d][9c]. The [Ts][Jh][2h] flop gave Chad top pair, and the [2d] turn and [5c] river changed nothing. Chad's stack was counted down to 440,000, and he will double up to take the chip lead. James will be left with 500,000, but it is still anyone's game as they are playing 8,000/16,000 blinds with a 2,000 ante.

3rd Place: Joshua Silva ($12,804)

Joshua Silva raised the small blind and Chad Brown called from the big blind. The flop fell [Ts][Qd][Ks] and Joshua moved all in. Chad made the call, showing [Kc][Tc] for two pair. Joshua held [Qc][7s] and would need to catch a queen to survive. The [6c] turn and [8h] river meant Joshua will exit this tournament in 3rd place, good for $12,804.

Chad Brown leads final three as Event #3 concludes for the day

Chad Brown is the overnight chip leader
Play has concluded for the day in Event #3 $1,125 NLH. Play was three handed when it was decided to play an extra level in Day 1. Though there were many allins during the level, the short stack kept doubling up. So the same three players will return at 1pm EST to play down to a winner.

Here are chip counts for the remaining players in seat order:

Chad Brown - 659,000
James Campbell - 411,000
Joshua Silva - 310,000

Event #4 $365 Omaha/8 Final Table Reached

The bubble had not burst when Day 1 was scheduled to complete, so the tournament staff let the final 10 players continue until the bubble burst. Halfway through Level 20, it finally burst, and the remaining players made the money and the final table. They will return tomorrow at 1pm EST to play down to a winner. Here are chip counts and seating assignments:

Seat 1: Andrew Chapman - 148,000
Seat 2: Myron Ray Bernstein - 80,000
Seat 3: James Kilarjian - 126,000
Seat 4: Giacomo Jack D'Agostino - 248,000
Seat 5: Craig Richard - 58,000
Seat 6: Dino Moustakis - 22,000
Seat 7: Lawrence Zito - 32,000
Seat 8: David Kopp - 21,000
Seat 9: Danny Chang - 157,000

Here are the prizes to be played for:

1st Place: $9,312
2nd Place: $5,820
3rd Place: $4,045
4th Place: $2,867
5th Place: $2,124
6th Place: $1,592
7th Place: $1,289
8th Place: $1,091
9th Place: $960

Three handed chip counts

The final three players are on a 15 minute break, and will play at least one more level today. Here are updated chip counts, in seat order:

Chad Brown - 241,000
James Campbell - 656,000
Joshua Silva - 483,000

4th Place: Chris Tryba ($9,303)

James Campbell moved all in from the small blind, having Chris Tryba in the big blind covered. Chris called all in with king-jack, and was slightly behind James's ace-deuce. Chris found no help and will exit this tournament in 4th place, good for $9,303.

5th Place: Akash Mazumdar ($6,887)

Akash Mazumdar put the last of his chips in with [Ks][7s] and was called by James Campbell holding [Ah][Ts]. Akash said, "Ooops," and the dealer spread the [Kd][9h][Qd] flop. James would need to catch an ace or a jack to send his opponent to the rail. The turn [Tc] opened up a few more outs for James. The [Js] hit the river to put a straight on board, but James had a bigger straight with his ace. Akash will exit this tournament in 5th place, good for $6,887.

6th Place: Taylor Black ($5,199)

Taylor Black moved all in with [Ah][7c] and was snap called by Chad Brown who held [As][Ac]. As the flop fell [Ad][2c][4s], all Taylor could say was, "Wow," as he got up out of his seat. The turn and river fell [6h][6s] to give Chad a full house, and Taylor will exit this tournament in 6th place. He will earn $5,199 for his efforts.

Akash Mazumdar triples up

We saw a three way all in with both Taylor Black and Joshua Silva holding ace-king, and Akash Mazumdar holding [Qh][Jc]. Knowing the odds, Chris Tryba joked that he wanted to bet his stack on Akash's hand. It would have been a good bet, as the flop fell [4s][Ts][Qs], giving Akash top pair. He would still need to dodge quite a few cards, as one of the players held the [As]. The turn fell [4h] and the river [6d] to triple Akash up, bumping his chip count to 369,000.

Friday, May 15, 2015

Six handed chip counts

The final six players are now on their last break of the night. When they return, blinds will be 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante. Here are updated chip counts at the break:

Chad Brown - 110,000
James Campbell - 241,000
Chris Tryba - 191,000
Taylor Black - 248,000
Akash Mazumdar - 141,000
Joshua Silva - 396,000

7th Place: Clifford Jones ($4,006)

Taylor Black opened from early position and action folded around to Clifford Jones in the big blind. He moved all in, and Taylor snap called. Clifford had run his [4s][4h] into Taylor's [Qh][Qd], and he'd need to catch a four to survive. The board ran out [8s][5s][Ac][Ah][7c], and Clifford will exit this tournament in 7th place, good for $4,006.

8th Place: Joshua Evans ($3,133)

Taylor Black opened from middle position before Joshua Evans moved all in from the small blind. Taylor thought about it for a bit before he elected to call, taking his [Qh][Jc] up against Joshua's [Ac][Kh]. The [9h][Qd][9c] flop put Taylor in front, but the [Tc] turn opened up four more outs for Joshua. The [9d] river gave Taylor the winning full house, and Joshua will exit this tournament in 8th place, good for $3,133.

9th Place: Michael Bratovich ($2,503)

Michael Bratovich was all in preflop holding [Kh][Qd] and had run into Joshua Silva's [Qh][Qc]. The [6h][3c][3h][2d][Ah] board failed to produce a needed king, and Michael will be eliminated in 9th place. He will earn $2,503 for his efforts.

10th Place: Shahrokh Reza ($2,027)

Shahrokh Reza was all in holding [Kd][Td] and was flipping with Chad Brown's [4s][4d]. The [6c][5d][Kh] flop hit Shahrokh, and he would get a double up if he could avoid one of the two remaining fours. The [3c] gave Chad a straight draw, and the [7d] river completed that straight, eliminating Shahrokh in 10th place. He will earn $2,027 for his efforts.

Event #3 Unoffical Final Table Reached

The final 12 players in Event #3 $1,125 NLH were in the money. Leonard Estabrooks went out in 12th and Yasin Ahmady went out in 11th, both earning $2,027. The remaining 10 have redrawn for seats at the unofficial final table, and play will resume at 2,000/4,000 blinds with a 500 ante after a brief break. Here are chip counts and seating assignments:

Seat 1: Chad Brown (Fayetteville, NC) - 150,500
Seat 2: Joshua Evans (Denton, TX) - 55,500

4th Place: $9,303
5th Place: $6,887
6th Place: $5,199
7th Place: $4,006
8th Place: $3,133
9th Place: $2,503
10th Place: $2,027

Taylor Black leads final 19 going into Level 15

As Level 14 concludes, Event #3 $1,125 NLH is down to the final 19 players. The top 12 players will get paid, so there's still a bit of play left until the bubble burst.

Two players seated on an outer table had big stacks, and they went to war in a hand that would decide the tournament chip leader. By the end of the hand, Taylor Black emerged with 127,000 chips to lead the event. Taylor is in the hunt for a National Championship seat after 7 World Series of Poker Circuit cashes this season, including 3 final tables.

Chris Tryba is still in with 78,000, good for a slightly above average stack. James Campbell sits on 40,000 chips while Tim West is grinding a short stack of 27,000. Blinds are now 1,200/2,400 with a 400 ante. There will be a break after this level.

Mark Dube leads Event #3 at second break

It looks as if Mark Dube is playing his first World Series of Poker Circuit event for this series, and things are going well for him. He is leading the field with about 68,000 in chips. Mark got 2nd place for $105,103 in the last WSOP-C Main Event at Foxwoods, losing to Allen Kessler. Mark also has 3 other Circuit final tables, but is still chasing that elusive WSOP-C ring.

We found Chris Tryba all in on the turn with top pair and a straight draw, but he was behind his opponent's top pair with better kicker. But Chris hit his kicker on the river to double up and survive. Chris busted out of Event #4 $365 Omaha/8 earlier today, so hopefully his back luck in that event will turn into good luck in this event. Chris already holds a WSOP-C ring as well as a WSOP bracelet, so perhaps he will add to that collection in this event.

Other players still alive in this event are Andrew Badecker, James Campbell, Tom Dobrilovic, Tarun G., Je Wook Oh, Andy Spears, and Tim West.

We noticed a few recognizable players in Event #4 $365 Omaha/8 as well. Bobby "The Bus" Ferdinand and Roland Israelashvili are both doing well in this event so far. The field is currently playing 75/150 blinds and 150/300 limits.

Event #4 $365 Omaha/8 Prize Pool & Payouts

Event #4 $365 Omaha/8 received 89 entries, missing the $30,000 guarantee. After the 3% Tournament Administration Fee was taken out, the prize pool is $29,100. The top 9 players will be in the money, with a mincash worth $960. Here are the full payouts:

1st Place: $9,312
2nd Place: $5,820
3rd Place: $4,045
4th Place: $2,867
5th Place: $2,124
6th Place: $1,592
7th Place: $1,289
8th Place: $1,091
9th Place: $960

Event #3 $1,125 NLH Prize Pool & Payouts

Event #3 $1,125 NLH received 92 entries, creating a $97,000 prize pool. The top 12 players will be in the money, with a mincash worth $2,027. Here are the full payouts:

1st Place: $29,100
2nd Place: $17,984
3rd Place: $12,804
4th Place: $9,303
5th Place: $6,887
6th Place: $5,199
7th Place: $4,006
8th Place: $3,133
9th Place: $2,503
10th-12th Place: $2,027

1st Place: Mike O'Connell ($10,441)

Hassan Babajane was all in preflop holding [Ac][Qh] and flipping against Mike O'Connell's [5d][5c]. The [9c][5h][6c] made Mike a huge favorite, but Hassan could backdoor a flush. Hassan was looking for a club to hit the turn to give him some hope, but instead the [5s] fell on the turn to give Mike unbeatable quads. The meaningless [3s] river meant Hassan would have to settle for $6,454 for 2nd place.

Mike will take home $10,441 for his first place finish, along with the World Series of Poker Circuit ring. All smiles for his winner picture, Mike said he didn't care about the money, he only cared about winning the tournament. Congratulations, Mike!

2nd Place: Hassan Babajane ($6,454)

Heads up chip counts

Event #2 $365 NLH is now heads up. Mike O'Connell, shown above on the right, has the chip lead with 800,000. Hassan Barbajane has 400,000. Play will continue for one more level before the day concludes, though there is talk the two may continue until they finish.

3rd Place: Bart Fooden ($4,657)

Bart Fooden lost most of his chips when he ran his pocket tens into Hassan Barbajane's pocket jacks. The last of his chips went in on a [Ac][7c][9d] flop. Bart had bottom pair with his [Qc][7d] but his opponent held [Ts][9h]. The [Kh] turn and [6c] river could not save Bart's tournament, and he will exit this tournament in 3rd place, good for $4,657.

4th Place: John Matson ($3,423)

John Matson was all in preflop holding [Qd][Qc] and was in a "classic race" with Bart Fooden's [Ad][Ks]. The [7d][Td][Jd] flop gave Bart a flush draw and a gutshot to go with his two overs. The [3c] on the turn changed nothing, but the [8d] river completed Bart's flush, eliminating John in 4th place. He will collect $3,423 for his efforts.

5th Place: Andy Spears ($2,558)

Andy Spears picked up a cooler to be eliminated in 5th place. His [Ac][Qc] ran into his opponent's [Ks][Kc]. The flop came king high, and Andy was unable to catch runner runner to survive. He will exit this tournament in 5th place, good for $2,588.

6th Place: Alex Feiner ($1,947) & 7th Place: Kurt Magalski ($1,502)

6th Place: Alex Feiner ($1,947)
On a T-8-x flop with two diamonds, Kurt Magalski moved all in for 92,000 and was called by Alex Feiner. Hassan Barbajane moved all in over the top and Alex called all in.

Kurt was in the worst shape with ace-ten, good for top pair. Hassan had flopped a set of eights, and he would knock both opponents out if he could dodge Alex's flush draw.

The turn and the river blanked out, and Kurt will exit in 7th for $1,502 while Alex will take 6th for $1,947.

Chip counts at the break

The seven remaining players are now on their last break of the day. Here are updated chip counts for the remaining players, in seat order:

Bart Fooden - 220,000
Andy Spears - 230,000
Hassan Barbajane - 75,000
Mike O'Connell - 390,000
John Matson - 95,000
Kurt Magalski - 120,000
Alex Feiner - 130,000

Andy Spears doubles through Bart Fooden

Andy Spears was all in with [Td][Tc] and was flipping for his tournament life against Bart Fooden's [Ad][Ks]. The [2d][Th][7d] flop was just what Andy was hoping for, leaving Bart to need running straight or flush cards to win. The [8c] turn left him drawing dead, and Andy will double up to 210,000.

8th Place: James Jordan Jr. ($1,182)

James lost most of his chips when his pocket tens fell to Kurt Magalski's ace-nine, and he got the last of his chips in against Andy Spears and Mike O'Connell. The two players checked all the way to the river, and Kurt's king high could not beat the other two players' ace high. James will exit this tournament in 8th place, good for $1,182.

9th Place: Brian Pincus ($941)

10th Place: Tarun G. ($764)

On a [Qs][6h][Js] flop, Steven Weeks was all in holding [Jh][Ts]. It was the best hand as Ryan Eriquezzo held [Ks][8s] for a flush draw and an overcard. Ryan had knocked out many opponents at this final table, and the [3s] hit the turn to make it one more. Ryan completed his flush to eliminate Steven in 2nd place, good for $14,025.

Ryan will take 1st place for $22,684 along with the World Series of Poker Circuit ring and the title. This is Ryan's 3rd ring, and a full recap of his win can be found at wsop.com. Congratulations, Ryan!

2nd Place: Steven Weeks ($14,025)

3rd Place: Chris Milano ($10,183)

Chris Milano got the last of his chips in with [Ac][Ts] but was up against Ryan Eriquezzo's superior [Ah][Kh]. Chris was looking to pair his ten, but the [6h][Jc][7c] flop was no help. The [Qc] turn gave Chris a flush draw and a gutshot straight draw, but the [3s] was a blank to eliminate him in 3rd place. Chris will collect $10,183.
