Event 13: Connie Dugas Leads 1B

Connie Dugas and her husband are all smiles after they found out she will take home the $1,000 bonus.

When the smoke cleared it was Connie Dugas who put 269,000 in the bag to take home the chip lead here on day1b. She will take home $1,000 for bagging the most chips. Other notables include James Campbell, Tarun G, Tim Lahey, and Mark Dube.

 63 players survived and will be combining with the 27 from day 1a tomorrow at 11am.

With the board reading [10s][10h][5s] a player from the big blind announced he was all in for his last 20,600. It folded to Tony Lanteri who made the call and the rest of the players folded.

The turn was the [Qh] and Lanteri would need to dodge a queen or a spade to take down the pot. Sure enough a meaningless [4d] hit the river and Lanteri would rake in the pot. He is now our first player to cross the 200,000 chip mark and with only 1 level left in the night could potentially be the one to take home the $1,000 chip leader bonus.

Anders Thurdin cracks the aces of Nick Palma.

There will be no back to back victory for Nick Palma as Anders Thurdin just busted him.
The action started with Palma raising from under the gun to 3800. Thurdin called on Palma's immediate left and the big blind also came along.
The three saw a flop of [Kh][6h][5h] as the big blind checked to Palma who continued with a bet of 5,500. Thurdin quickly called and the big blind got out of the way.
Palma showed no signs of slowing down on the [4s] turn as he bet again, this time for 11,000 only leaving himself an additional 11,000 behind. Thurdin quickly called again and the [7d] hit the river. Palma announced all in and Thuridin snap called tabling [7h][7s] for a rivered set.
Palma looked shocked as he slowly turned over [Ah][Ad] and gathered his things quietly as he made his way out of the tournament area.

We walked up to the feature table to see Mark Dube deep in the tank with an opponent all in for 81,400. After counting down his stack numerous times Dube elected to call.

It was a classic flip and we were off the races. The dealer spread a flop of [2d][2h][3d] and Dube sank into his chair as the other player stood up realizing he picked up the flush draw. Just like that the dealer burned and turned the [2s] and Dube improved to a full house, but still needed to dodge an ace or a king on the river. He did just that with the [3d] river and Dube raked in a massive pot.
He now sits with over 180,000.

Dagata would need to dodge a 5 or a 10 to remain in the tournament and Costa would have to dodge a 5,10 or an ace. The board ran out [3h][8c] providing Costa with a triple up and new found life with 35,000 chips. Dagata broke pretty close to even on the hand and still sits with around 22,000.

The players are now in level 12 with the blinds at 600/1200/200. There will be a 10 minute break at the end of this level, and then players will return to play out the remaining 3 levels on the day.

The action was on David Chaves facing a raise and a call in front of him. A player opened from under the gun +1 to 2,000 and the player on his immediate left had called. Chaves put in a three-bet to 4,400 and action folded around the original raiser who without hesitation announced he was all in for an additional 17,800. The player on his immediate left announced call leaving himself 12,000 behind and after a slight deliberation Chaves called as well.
The dealer spread out the [Kc][10s][8c] flop and before his opponent could finish saying all in, Chaves quickly yelled "Call!" as he tabled [10h][10d] for middle set.

It was no easy battle but at the end of the day Nick Palma takes home the $46,403 along with a new Seiko watch and a Foxwoods Globe. Nick came into the final table 2nd in chips and told the table multiple times it was going to be his tournament to lose. Being a man of his word he stuck to his guns and eventually trucked through the remaining 9 players to take home the win.

Domenic Apostolico came into the final table 3rd in chips and proceeded to coast all the way to second place and he did it with a smile on his face the entire time. Domenic will take home $30,301 for his finish here in event 12 and we hope to see him back this week for a few more events!

Jimmy Nunez announced all in on the button and Palma folded his option from the small blind. Apostolico snap called from the big blind and we were off to the river.

Jimmy Nunez raised the button to 110,000 only to see Apostolico push his remaining 368,000 chips into the middle.
"Ahhh, only cause i'm tired" exclaimed Nunez as he slid chips into the middle for a call.
"Just a bad ace" said Apostolico.

On a board reading [Jd][5d][7c] Nick Palma led into Domenic Apostolico for 60,000. Apostolico responded with a raise to 150,000 which in return led to a four-bet from Palma to 305,000. Apostolico would call and the dealer burned and turned the [2h]. Palma quickly cut out a bet of 365,000 and Apostolico knuckled the table and released his cards into the muck.

Action folded to Jerry Nunez in the small blind who announced all-in for his last 453,000. Nick Palma asked for a count and eventually cut out enough chips for a call and pushed them across the betting line.

Event 12: Break Time

The action has again slowed down. Majority of the pots have been taken down pre-flop with a raise although Domenic Apostolico is becoming more and more active ever since he doubled up. He has been using majority of his aggression with three-bets from the blinds which to this point, have gone uncontested.
The players have agreed to not take a full break, just a few minutes to use the bathroom and then action will be getting back underway. When they return the blinds will be 15,000/30,000 with a 3,000 ante. Here is how the players currently sit:

On a board reading [Qh][9h][7s][8h][6c] Nick Palma pushed forward a stack of green chips big enough to put Domenic Apostolico all-in.
"Really?" Domenic questioned as he leaned back in his chair pondering what to do.
After a few moments of thinking he said call. Palma knuckled the table.
"You win, nice hand" Palma said as he tossed his cards into the muck.
Apostolico tabled [Kh][10d] for a rivered straight and would double up to take the chip lead.

On the very next hand Jerry Nunez was all in and at risk holding [Ad][7d] against the [Jd][9d] of Nick Palma.
Palma turned towards Nunez with a smile "Good luck buddy."
"I'm going to need it against you" Nunez chuckled.
Sure enough the luck was more than enough as the dealer fanned the [7s][3d][7c][2h][9h] board which was good enough for Nunez to get the full double. The chip counts are now as follows :

After a series of uncontested pots, we have reached level 25 in event 12! The blinds are now 12,000/24,000 with a 3,000 ante.
A lot of the action has been raise and take for the past 40 minutes with very few big hands. With the blinds escalating we are bound for some action soon! Here is where the players stand:

On a board reading [Jh][Js][2s][8s] Dan Chalifour checked his option to Nick Palma, who pushed in a bet of 100,000. Before the chips even crossed the bet line Chalifour announced all in and Palma snap called. It would appear Palma had run down another player at the table but would still have to fade a few cards on the river as he turned a flush with [Ks][4s] against the [Jd][5c] of Chalifour. The [3c] on the river would not fill up Chalifour and he is sent to the rail in 5th place with a nice pay day of $11,428.

Nick Palma opened the action to 35,000 on the button and was immediately three-bet by Dan Chalifour from the small blind to 100,000. James Frangoulidis folded from the big blind and action was back on Palma. He wasted little time in pushing out two stacks of red for a four-bet to 235,000. Chalifour quickly called and they were heads up to the flop.

Both players opted to check and would see the [Ac] on the turn. Chalifour again checked but Palma would not be giving any more free cards. He put out a bet of 130,000 and was quickly called. The river was the [4s] and Chalifour would check one last time. Palma announced all-in and Chalifour was visibly frustrated. He dropped the chips he was shuffling in his hand and sat back in his chair trying to review the action in the hand. After a few minutes he asked Palma if he would show if he folded and Palma said yes.
After another minute or so he released his cards into the muck and Palma tabled the [Qd][Qs] good for a flopped top set.
Palma now sits on over 1,300,000 chips as he takes a commanding chip lead over the rest of the table.

Moments after Muhammad Rahim's [Ad][As] was cracked by the [Kd][Kh] of Domenic Apostolico, Rahim was all in and at risk with [As][10s] against the [Ah][Kd] of Nick Palma. The board ran out clean and Muhammad Rahim was sent packing in 6th place. He would not go home empty handed, as he takes home $9,350 for his efforts.

In what is starting to develop into a very interesting dynamic, Nick Palma and Muhammad Rahim have been verbally sparring with eachother the entire final table. In the latest development the board read [Qd][Qs][2c][3d][Jc] and Muhammad checked his option over to Palma. Palma slid out a tower of red chips totaling out to 125,000. Muhammad thought about it for a minute or so before announcing a call. Palma quickly tabled [Qh][Jh] for a full house as Muhammad threw his [As][Js] into the muck.
"I told you that you'd get hurt trying to play against me" said Palma.
"You got lucky man" Muhammad said back to him.
Palma now sits on around 800,000 while Muhammad has dropped down to 400,000.

Bobby Ricciuti opened the action with a raise under the gun +1 to 17,000 only to be called by Joe Tieri, She Lok Wong, and Dominic Apostolico also called from the small blind. Muhammad Rahim announced he was all-in from the big bling for an additional 121,000. Bobby and Joe got out of the way but She Lok Wong wasn't going anywhere. He counted out a call and slid the chips forward as Dominic quickly folded his option from the small blind.
