Event #9 $365 NLH Prize Pool & Payouts

Event #9 $365 NLH received 145 entries, creating a $43,601 prize pool. The top 15 players will be in the money, with a mincash worth $736. Here are the full payouts:

1st Place: $12,209
2nd Place: $7,547
3rd Place: $5,446
4th Place: $4,002
5th Place: $2,991
6th Place: $2,276
7th Place: $1,758
8th Place: $1,382
9th Place: $1,103
10th-12th Place: $893
13th-15th Place: $736

1st Place: Valentin Vornicu ($20,973)

2nd Place: Patrick Chan ($12,964)

3rd Place: Solang Ung ($9,329)

Valentin Vornicu has eliminated yet another opponent. This time, Solang Ung took his ace-ten up against Valentin's jack-ten. It seems to be Valentin's day as he flopped trip jacks, and rivered a flush for good measure. Solang will collect $9,329 for his 3rd place finish here today.

4th Place: Donnell Dais ($6,836)

Valentin Vornicu moved all in from the button and Donnell Dais called all in for less from the big blind. Donnell was ahead with his [As][7s] against Valentin's [Kh][Qh], but the [5s][Td][Qs] gave Valentin top pair. Donnell picked up a flush draw, or could catch an ace to survive. The [2d] turn changed nothing, and the [Kd] meant Valentin would win that pot and eliminate his opponent. Donnell would be eliminated in 4th place, good for $6,836.

5th Place: Mark Devlin ($5,103)

Mark Devlin was all in holding [Ah][3d] and was up against the [Qs][6h] of Valentin Vornicu. The flop fell [8c][5s][3c], keeping Mark in front, but the [Qd] turn changed everything. Mark would need an ace or a three on the river to survive, but the [9h] hit the river instead. Mark will exit this tournament in 5th place, good for $5,103.

6th Place: Soukha Kachittavong ($3,869)

With the big blind away from the table, Soukha Kachittavong moved all in and Valentin Vornicu made the call. Soukha's pocket deuces were behind Valentin's pocket sixes, and Soukha failed to find a deuce to survive. He will exit the tournament in 6th place, good for $3,869.

Play has wrapped up for Day 1 in Event #8 $580 NLH, and six players remain. Play will resume tomorrow at 1pm PDT to play down to a winner. Here are the chip counts for the final six in seat order:

Soukha Kachittavong - 122,000
Patrick Chan - 161,000
Valentin Vornicu - 711,000
Mark Devlin - 31,000
Solang Ung - 250,000
Donnell Dais (button) - 573,000

Here are the remaining prizes left to play for:

1st Place: $20,973
2nd Place: $12,964
3rd Place: $9,329
4th Place: $6,836
5th Place: $5,103
6th Place: $3,869

7th Place: Lee Hirsch ($2,990) & 8th Place: Maria Kalantzi ($2,346)

Lee Hirsch raised preflop and Valentin Vornicu and another player made the call. Maria Kalantzi called all in for less. The flop fell [4h][9c][9h] and Lee check raised all in. Valentin made the call, and the other live player got out of the way.

Lee [Qd][Qc]
Valentin [Ts][9s]
Maria [Ks][Jd]

Valentine had flopped trip nines and would knock out two opponents if he could avoid a queen or runnings king or jacks. The turn [6h] changed nothing, and the [Kd] river meant Valentin would win the pot. Maria started the hand with less chips, so she will exit the tournament in 8th place for $2,346, while Lee will take 7th place for $2,990.

9th Place: Beata Wielgoszewski ($1,879)

Beata Wielgoszewski was all in preflop holding [8s][8h] and was racing against Soukha Kachittavong's [Js][9s]. The [Qd][7h][Td] flop gave Soukha an opened ended straight draw to go along with his two overcards, and the [9d] gave Soukha a pair of nines. Beata would need to catch a jack to survive, but the [9h] hit the river instead to give Soukha trip nines. Beata will exit this tournament in 9th place, good for $1,879.

10th Place: Paul Giliberto ($1,514)

Paul Giliberto moved all in after Valentin Vornicu raised, and Valentin made the call. Paul was slightly ahead with his [Kd][5c] against Valentin's [Th][8h], but the [5s][4h][2h] flop made Valentin the favorite. The [7s] gave Valentin additional outs to make a straight, and the [6s] filled that draw. Paul will exit this tournament in 10th place, good for $1,514.

Event #8 down to 45 players

45 players remain from a starting field of 154. Many notables are still in the field, including Je Wook Oh, Mark Dube, Chad J. Brown, Sara Kopp, Michael Hourigan, and Soukha Kachittavong. The top 18 players will make the money.

1st Place: Baruch Thaler ($12,124)

The board read [6c][5c][7d] and Baruch Thaler had Eric Rivkin all in. Baruch held [4s][4h] for a pair of fours and an open ended straight draw, but Eric was leading for the moment with his [Td][7s]. The turn [7c] gave Eric trips but did not change Baruch's outs. When the [4c] hit the river, the rail exploded. Baruch had hit his ten outer, knocking Eric Rivkin out in 2nd place.

Baruch has won Event #7 $365 NLH, taking home $12,124 and his second World Series of Poker Circuit ring. Baruch is now tied with James Campbell for Casino Champion, however this win puts Baruch in 13th place on the National Leaderboard, already guaranteeing him a spot in the National Championship. Congratulations, Baruch!

2nd Place: Eric Rivkin ($7,496)

Event #7 has concluded for the night

The final three players are bagging up their chips for the night and will return tomorrow at 1pm PDT to play down to the winner. Play will resume at 10,000/20,000 with a 3,000 ante, and Baruch will begin with the button. Here are the overnight chip counts in seat order:

Eric Rivkin - 613,000
Bill Rosen - 295,000
Baruch Thaler - 534,000

All three players take turns doubling up

Eric Rivkin opened from the button before Bill Rosen moved all in from the small blind. Baruch Thaler folded his big blind and Eric snap called, tabling [Qs][Qd]. It was a classic race as the rail pointed out as Bill held [Ac][Ks]. The board ran out a pure [8c][Th][5c][3h][7d] to earn Eric a double up to 702,000, good for the chip lead

A few hands later, queens appeared again. This time Baruch Thaler had [Qs][Qd] and he had Eric allin with his [Ac][9c]. The [Kh][2c][3s] flop was no help to Eric, but the [3c] hit the turn to give him a flush draw. The [7c] river gave Eric the winning flush, doubling him up to 510,000.

Baruch got his stack in a few hands later on a [7s][Ac][Tc] flop holding [Ah][Qs]. Bill held [Jd][Jc] for an underpair, so Baruch had to dodge two outs to survive. The turn and river fell [4d][Qc] to put Baruch back at 500,000 and knock Bill back down to 290,000.

Play contnues three handed

The final three players have decided to continue playing in hopes of ending the tournament tonight. After a brief break, the final three are now playing 6,000/12,000 with a 2,000 ante. Here are chip counts in seat order:

Eric Rivkin - 600,000
Bill Rosen - 450,000
Baruch Thaler - 470,000

4th Place: James Campbell ($3,975)

James Campbell opened the pot before Eric Rivkin reraised. James moved all in and Eric made the call showing [Ts][Tc]. James was flipping with his [Ac][Kd]. The flop fell [Qd][8d][Qs], changing nothing, but the [Js] turn meant James could also counterfit Eric with another jack. The river landed the [9c], missing James and eliminating him in 4th place. He will collect $3,975 for his efforts, but more importantly, James has taken over the lead as Casino Champion with 75 points.

5th Place: Sotirios Tsiantoulas ($2,970)

Sotirios Tsiantoulas was all in preflop holding [Ah][Jd] and was flipping with James Campbell's [7s][7d]. The board ran out [8s][Qd][3c][4d][4s], keeping James's sevens in front. Sotirios will exit this tournament in 5th place, collecting $2,970 for his efforts.

6th Place: Michael Hourigan ($2,260)

Michael Hourigan was all in with pocket nines and was flipping with Baruch Thaler's ace-jack. The board ran out Q-8-A-5-Q to give Baruch the winning pair of aces, and Michael will be eliminated in 6th place. He will collect $2,260 for his efforts.

Monday, May 18, 2015

7th Place: Timothy Little ($1,745)

Timothy Little was all in preflop holding [As][Ts] but ran into his opponent's [Ah][Ad]. The [7h][Ac][8c] flop wasn't much help for Timothy, but the [9h] gave him an open ended straight draw. Unfortunately for Timothy, his miracle card did not come.  The river fell [7c] to send Timothy to the rail in 7th place, good for $1,745.

8th Place: Joe Labib ($1,373)

Joe Labib was all in preflop holding [Ac][Qh] and was racing against his opponent's [9s][9c]. The [Ad][6h][8s] put Joe in front, and he needed to dodge a two outer. The [Ts] turn opened up four more outs for his opponent, and the [7h] was one of those outs. Joe's opponent had made runner-runner straight to eliminate him in 8th place. Joe will earn $1,373 for his efforts.

9th Place: Jason Tulloss ($1,095)

Jason Tulloss moved all in over a raise by James Campbell and James made the quick call. Jason's [Ac][7h] was dominated by James's [Ad][Qd], but the [6c][9s][6s] gave Jason some hope for a chop. The [5d] turn gave Jason additional outs for a gutshot straight, but the [As] river gave the pot to James. Jason will exit this tournament in 9th place, good for $1,095.

10th Place: "Blackjack" ($887)

A player only wanting to be known as "Blackjack" moved all in after Eric Rivkin opened the pot. Eric made the call, tabling [Ks][Kc]. "Blackjack" would need to get lucky with his [Ac][Qh], but the board ran out [2d][3c][8c][Js][Jh] to send "Blackjack" to the rail in 10th place, good for $887.

1st Place: $12,124
2nd Place: $7,496
3rd Place: $5,408
4th Place: $3,975
5th Place: $2,970
6th Place: $2,260
7th Place: $1,745
8th Place: $1,373
9th Place: $1,095
10th-12th Place: $887
13th-15th Place: $731

1st Place: Jay Kovoor ($54,445)

The board read [Tc][Jc][6c] and Wayne Kaufmann was all in. Jay Kovoor made the call, showing a flopped flush with his [Kc][8c]. Wayne held [Qh][9c] for a straight and flush draw, but Jay had him drawing dead as he held blockers to both of Wayne's runner-runner straight flush draws. The board ran out [8d][6s], and Jay will win Event #5 $580 NLH for $54,445.

2nd Place: Wayne Kaufmann ($33,677)

Jay Kovoor-Chathoth takes the chip lead

On a [Td][7h][Ah][6c] board, Wayne Kaufmann bet out and Jay Kovoor-Chathoth moved all in. Wayne made the call, showing two pair with his [Ac][7d], but Jay had turned a straight with his [9d][8s]. Wayne called for the board to pair, but the [2d] hit the river instead. Jay's stack was counted down to 1,715,000, and he will double up. Jay now has the chip lead with 4,300,000 to Wayne's 1,700,000.

Jay Kovoor-Chathoth attempts to even the stacks

The final two players in Event #5 $580 NLH just played a big pot to nearly even the stacks. The board was queen high and on the turn with around over 600,000 in the pot, Jay Kovoor-Chathoth checked to Wayne Kaufmann. Wayne bet 420,000 only to see Jay check-raise all in for just over a million more. Wayne thought about it for a bit before folding, and Jay flashed a queen.

Jay now has 2,500,000 to Wayne's 3,500,000, so this tournament is far from over with the blinds going to 30,000/60,000 in 2 minutes.

3rd Place: Brad St. Vincent ($24,561)

At 25,000/50,000 blinds with a 5,000 ante, Jay Kovoor-Chathoth raised to 110,000 on the button and Wayne Kaufmann folded his small blind. Brad St. Vincent moved all in from the big blind, and Jay made the call. Brad was in bad shape with his [Kc][Jh] against Jay's [As][Jd], and the [6s][3s][Ad] killed almost all of Brad's hope to survive. The [3c] turn meant Brad was drawing dead, and he was eliminated in 3rd place when the meaningless [Kh] hit the river. Brad will earn $24,561 for his efforts.

Roland Israelashvili has won Event #6

Roland Israelashvili has defeated Thomas Balla heads up to win Event #6 $580 Six-Max NLH. Roland will take home $12,485 and the World Series of Poker Circuit ring.

Entering heads up play, Thomas Balla had a chip lead over Roland, but Roland stole the chip lead away when he hit a lucky river to survive. Roland had a flush draw and got all in with one card to come against Thomas's trip fours. Roland hit a diamond to take over the chip lead. Not much later, Thomas was all in on an ace high flop holding ace-five but was in bad shape against Roland's [Ac][Jc]. No three outer came, and Thomas was eliminated in 2nd for $8,354.

Event #5 has concluded for the night

Day 2 has come to a close for Event #5 $580 NLH. There was brief talk about continuing play, but the final three agreed to stop for the night and return at 12:30pm to play down to a winner. Here are the overnight chip counts for the final three, in seat order:

Wayne Kaufmann (button) - 2,935,000
Brad St. Vincent - 1,395,000
Jay Kovoor Chathoth - 1,695,000

Event #6 $580 Six-Max is now heads up

Event #6 $580 Six-Max NLH is now heads up. Thomas Balla holds the chip lead with 810,000 to Roland Israelashvili's 350,000. Here are the final table eliminations so far:

3rd Place: Kevin Balcom ($5,485)
4th Place: Michael Carusone ($4,338)
5th Place: Baruch Thaler ($3,282)
6th Place: Ralph Macri ($2,527)
7th Place: Gennadiy Kostrov ($1,881)

4th Place: Michael Savino ($18,231)

Wayne Kaufmann opened the pot before Michael Savino moved all in. Action folded back to Wayne who thought about it before calling. Michael exposed his [Qs][Qh], which was way in front of Wayne's [6d][6c]. The [4c][Jd][5c] changed nothing, but the [7s] gave Wayne an open ended straight draw to go with his pre-existing two outs. The [3d] river completed that straight, eliminating Michael in 4th place. He will earn $18,231 for his efforts.
