Ryan Eriquezzo doubles through Charles Cohen

On a [Qh][Js][6c][9h] board, Ryan Eriquezzo moves all in with [Kd][Kc] and gets a call from Charles Cohen who holds [Ts][9s].  Charles has eight outs to eliminate Ryan, but the [4h] river is not one of them.  Ryan seems surprised that his 82% favorite held up, and he scoops this giant pot.  Ryan now sits on over 1,300,000.

Je Wook Oh doubles through Michael O'Connell

On the last hand before dinner break, Je Wook Oh was all in with A-Q against Michael O'Connell's pocket sixes.  Je Wook flopped a queen to earn the double-up.  After the hand, Je Wook had 524,000 while Michael dropped to 1,250,000.

The nine remaining players are now on a 45 minute dinner break.  Play will resume at approximately 6:50pm.

10th Place: Marc Magazu ($1,610)

Marc Magazu was all in with [7h][7c] and was behind his opponent's [9h][9c].  Marc would need to catch a seven to stay alive, but the [Ac][9s][Kd] left Marc all but drawing dead.  He would need both sevens to come out to stave off eliminations, but the [5d] turn left him drawing dead.  The meaningless [4s] hit the river, sending Marc to the payout desk to collect his $1,610 for 10th place.

1st Place: Joseph McKeehen ($61,285)

After a grueling heads up match, Joseph McKeehen had grinded Peter Everett down to about 10 big blinds, and Peter got the last of his chips in with [Qc][5c] against Joseph's [As][9c].  The board ran out a clean [8s][2d][8c][8h][6c] to bring this lengthy final table to a close.  Joseph will earn a $61,285 payday along with the title, the trophy, and the watch.  Congratulations, Joseph!

2nd Place: Peter Everett ($39,835)

Joseph McKeehen doubles through Peter Everett right before break

Chip leader Peter Everett
Joseph McKeehen and Peter Everett are still heads up, and both players have had the chip lead at points in the match.

Just before the break, Joseph was all in with [Qd][6d] on a [Qc][Tc][5d][6s] board against Peter's [As][Qs].  The river bricked off the [9h] and Joseph doubled up.

Currently it's Peter in the lead with approximately 2.1 million to Joseph's 1.7 million.  Players have elected to skip the break, and the blinds are now 25,000/50,000 with a 5,000 ante.

Joseph McKeehen fights back to double through Peter Everett

Joseph McKeehen watches the river save his tournament life
Peter Everett moved all in preflop and Joseph McKeehen snap called.  It was another preflop cooler as Peter had [As][Qc] against Joseph's [Kh][Kc].  The [5c][Ah][Qs] flop was huge for Peter as he flopped two pair, leaving Joseph needing a king to survive.  The [Jd] turn opened a few more outs for Joseph as he could make a straight with a ten.  Miraculously, the [Td] popped up on the river.  "Bink city," yelled one of Joseph's supporters.  Joseph doubled up to about 1.4 million, and Peter dropped to around 2.6 million.

Peter Everett doubles through Joseph McKeehen

With almost all of the chips on the line, Peter Everett got all in against Joseph McKeehen on a [Ad][4d][5h].  Peter was in great shape to double up as he had flopped a set with [4s][4h], up against Joseph's [Ac][Kd].  Joseph picked up a flush draw on the [Td] turn, but the [Qc] on the river locked up a double for Peter.

3rd Place: Steve Happas ($26,400)

With the board reading [2c][Td][9c][9h], Steve Happas moved all in and was snap called by Joseph McKeehen.  Joseph flipped over [Ts][Th], and all Steve could say was, "What a set up" as he tabled his [Ad][9s].  Steve was drawing live to a one-outer, but the [5h] river wasn't it.  Steve earns $26,400 for his 3rd place finish.

Sunday, March 16, 2014

4th Place: Brendan Wiley ($19,799)

After losing most of his chips with a set of tens to a rivered straight, Brendan Wiley was all in with K-Q against A-T.  His opponent flopped two pair and Brendan was looking for a jack to river his own straight.  Unfortunately, it did not come, and Brendan will have to settle for 4th place and the $19,799 that goes along with it.

5th Place: Will Morales ($15,086)

Will Morales was all in preflop and was called by two opponents.  The [Ts][5c][2d][Jc][4s] board was checked down, and Will's [Ah][Tc] lost to [Ad][Jd].  Will will collect $15,086 for his 5th place finish.

6th Place: Mike Guadano ($12,257)

Mike Guadano was all in preflop with [As][Qc] against chip leader Joseph McKeehen's [Ah][Kd].  All four flush draws were live, as Joseph pointed out.  The [7h][Kh][Ac] flop dug Mike a deeper hole, as he'd need to go runner runner to stay alive.  The [Js] turn gave Mike one of his backdoor draws, needing a ten to make broadway.  But the river was the [Qd], making Mike the losing two pair.  He will collect $12,257 for his 6th place finish today.

Event #14 $400 Six-Max is now on the bubble

We are down to 19 players in today's $400 Six-Max from 168 starting entries.  One more player needs to bust before the remaining 18 players are in the money, so all three tables are now hand for hand until the money bubble bursts.

Updated chip counts on break

Chip leader Joseph McKeehen
Players are now on a 10 minute break.  When they return, blinds will be 6,000/12,000 with a 2,000 ante.  Here are updated chip counts for the final 6 players, in seat order:

Steve Happas - 320,000
Brendan Wiley - 360,000
Joseph McKeehen - 1,650,000
Will Morales - 235,000
Peter Everett - 1,050,000
Mike Guadano - 345,000

7th Place: Mike Dentale ($9,899)

On a [4d][7c][5s][Jh] board, Mike Dentale was all in against Peter Everett.  Mike had the best starting hand in hold'em, [As][Ah], but Peter had caught up by flopping a straight with his [8c][6c].  Mike was already heading to the payout desk when the [9s] hit the river, and he will collect $9,899 for his 7th place finish today.

8th Place: Mike Jarvela ($8,015)

Mike Jarvela was all in with [Kh][Kd] and was called by Steve Happas who held the [Ad][Kc].  It was a preflop cooler, and Mike was in good shape to double up.  The [Qd][6d][8c] flop was dealt, and Mike just ha to dodge an ace or backdoor draws.  But the [As] changed everything, and now Mike would need to catch the case king to survive.  It was not to be, as the [8d] landed instead to give Steve the winning two pair.  Mike headed to the payout desk to collect his $8,015 for his 8th place finish.

9th Place: Greg Hyman ($6,366)

In a blind vs. blind battle, Greg Hyman was all in with [Ks][Th] against Will Morales's [Ac][Qs].  Greg was in bad shape as the flop fell [Ad][8s][5d], and the [4d] turn left Greg drawing dead.  After the meaningless [9d] river was dealt, the stacks were counted down, and it was confirmed that Greg would be our 9th place finisher, good for $6,366.

10th Place: Michael Jacoby ($4,478)

Michael Jacob was all in with [6s][6c] against Joseph McKeehen's [Ad][Ac].  Michael was drawing dead by the turn on a [Jh][Qh][8h][As][4d] board, and he will be eliminated in 10th place.  Michael collects $4,478 for his efforts.

The bubble boy
The bubble has burst in Event #13 $1,650 NLH.  A short stack got it in with ace five but was dominated by his opponent's ace jack.  No five came, and the remaining 18 players are in the money.  They are now redrawing for seats at the final 2 tables.
