End of Day 1 chip leader Alias Mourtadh has 612,000 in chips.
Play has come to an end on Day 1 of the Mega Stack Challenge Main Event.  There are 46 players remaining and the average chip stack is just under 186,000.

Play to End One Level Early at the Mega Stack Challenge Main Event

Tournament officials have decided to end play on Day 1 at the conclusion of Level 16 instead of Level 17 in order to give players extra time to drive home in the winter storm.

Play will still resume on Sunday at noon as scheduled.

Back-to-Back Final Tables for Anthony Serino?


Anthony Serino is looking good on his promise to make back-to-back final tables.  Serino, who final tabled the $400 Mega Stack Challenge that wrapped up yesterday, is currently among the Main Event chip leaders with over 240,000 chips.

Less Than 100 Players Remaining in the Mega Stack Main Event

We are down to 88 players in the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge Main Event with a chip average of 97,000.

The blinds are currently 800-1,600 with a 200 ante in Level 13.  Play on Day 1 is scheduled to continue until the conclusion of Level 17.

Ryan Eriquezzo Holds the Mega Stack Challenge Main Event Chip Lead


With registration and re-entries now closed, we have a clear chip leader at the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge Main Event.

It is none other than Ryan Eriquezzo, who showed up today just to play the Main Event.

With about 166 players remaining, Eriquezzo is sitting on around 170,000 in chips, more than triple the current average.

Steve Happas Eliminated from the Main Event

No Back-to-Back Mega Stack Victories for Tarun Gulati

There will be no back-to-back Mega Stack Challenge victory for Tarun Gulati.  Gulati, who won the $400 No-Limit Hold 'em Mega Stack Challenge late last night for over $26,000, was just eliminated from the Main Event.

Overall, an excellent series for Gulati who we will see again in 2014.

Update from the Second Break at the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge Main Event

The players are now returning from their second break of the day in the $1,200 No-Limit Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge.

We currently have 235 total entrants going into Level 7 with registration and re-entries open until the end of Level 9.

The blinds have been increased to 200-400 with a 50 ante.  There are 195 players remaining and the average chip stack is now 36,100.

No 3-Peat for Dave Stefanski this year in the December Mega Stack Challenge Main Event


At the 2011 December Mega Stack Main Event, Dave Stefanski chopped heads-up and took home $69,000.  Last year, Stefanski won the December Mega Stack Challenge Main Event outright for $52,359.

This year, however, there will be no three-peat for Stefanski, as he is unable to play the event due to a wedding.

We will have a new champion this series for the first time in three years!

Mega Stack Challenge $1,200 No-Limit Main Event $175K GTD Now Underway!


Cards are in the air for Day 1 of the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge $1,200 No-Limit Hold 'em Main Event.

Players start with 30,000 in chips and the blinds are starting at 25-50.  Levels 1-9 will be played for 40 minutes while Levels 11 and up will be 50 minutes in length.

Registration and re-entries are available through the end of Level 9.

We are scheduled to play 17 levels on Day 1 with Day 2 kicking off at noon on Sunday.

This event features a $175,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Congratulations to Tarun Gulati, winner of the $400 No-Limit Hold 'em event at the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge.

Gulati and Michael Lavoie came to an agreement on a chip chop with $2,396 left on the table for the winner.

Gulati took first place, earning $26,396 and the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge trophy.

Day 1B of the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge $400 No-Limit Hold 'em event has come to an end with 54 players remaining of the 281 that started play.

Bobby Corcione earned the $1,500 bonus as Day 1B chip leader with 318,500.  Michael Vela was second in chips today and pocketed $1,000.

The 21 survivors from Day 1A and the 54 from Day 1B will combine to form Day 2 on Friday starting at 11am.

The blinds will be starting on Day 2 at 1,500-3,000 with a 500 ante.  With 75 players remaining, the average chip stack is now 121,000.

Play Concludes on Day 1A of the $400 No-Limit $100K GTD Mega Stack Challenge

Day 1A of the $400 No-Limit Hold 'em event at the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge has concluded for the day.

We had a total of 173 entrants on Day 1A with 21 advancing to Day 2.

Pete Campo collected the $1,500 bonus for being the Day 1A chip leader with 539,000.  Joe Starratt took home the $1,000 bonus for finishing second in chips.

Day 2 will resume on Friday at 11am.

Day 1B will kick off Thursday at 11am.  Full chip counts and Day 2 seat assignments will be posted at the conclusion of Day 1B.

Play will resume at noon tomorrow.  The blinds tomorrow will start at 8,000-16,000 with a 2,000 ante.
