Event #2 ($580 NLH Re-Entry) Flight C Registration Closes with 232 Entries

Registration is now closed for Flight C of the $580 no-limit hold'em re-entry event #2. The third of four starting flights drew 232 entries. Yesterday's Flight A drew 252 entries, and this morning's Flight B drew 258 entries, bringing the total to 742 entries for the first three flights. 

At the end of Flight A, only 28 players remained. Their names and chip counts can be found by clicking THIS LINK. Fred Paradis led the final 39 players from Flight B. The Flight B chipcounts can be found by clicking THIS LINK.

Any player making it through to Day 2 will return at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday August 20th.

Anyone that does not make it through to Day 2 in this evening's flight has one last chance tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 11 a.m.

Event #2 ($580 NLH Re-Entry) - Fred Paradis Leads 39 Flight B Players

After fifteen levels of play, Flight B had concluded. The second of the four starting flights saw a total of 258 entries, with 39 making it through to Day 2. Those 39 players will join the 28 that made it through from Flight A, and any that make it through in Flights C and D, and will return to play Day 2 on Sunday August 20th at 12:00 p.m.

Foxwoods regular Fred Paradis ended Flight B with the chip lead, bagging up 183,500Natale Kuey ended in second with 174,000, and Anthony Vitone bagged up third in chips with 170,500.

Other notables to make it through to Day 2 from Flight B include: Ronnie Bardah (131,500), Randy Spain (125,000), John Caputo (115,500), Sherwin Agard (88,000), and Spiro Mitrokostas (67,500).

Chris Tryba Wins Second WSOP Ring in Foxwoods Series Event #1 ($365 NLH)

Poker pro Chris Tryba has just defeated Kevin Balcom heads up, securing himself $14,664, and his second World Series of Poker Circuit ring.  

Since this is the first ring awarded in the series, Tryba has also taken the lead in the race for Casino Champion. Tryba secured 50 points for his win today, and the player to accumulate the most points over the course of the series wins the title of Foxwoods Casino Champion, and wins a free seat into the $1 million guarantee Global Casino Championship event held each year in August in Cherokee, NC.  

Event #2 ($580 NLH Re-Entry) Flight C Starts at 5 PM

The third of four starting flights in the $365 no-limit hold'em re-entry event kicks off this afternoon at 5 p.m. It follows the exact same structure as this morning's Flight B, which drew 258 entries. (Flight A drew 252 entries.)

  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips.
  • Blinds start at 25/50
  • Day one is scheduled to play 15, 30-minute levels

  • There are 15 minute breaks after levels 4, 8, and 12.
  • There is a $500,000 guaranteed prizepool for this event

After a long heads up battle, Kevin Balcom was just eliminated by poker pro Chris Tryba.

Balcom shoved all in for around 600,000, and Tryba paused for a few seconds before calling.

Balcom was ahead holding 8♠8 against Tryba's A5♠.  But that lead only lasted until the flop came A♣A♠Q giving Tryba trip aces.

The 3 turn and 6♣ river were no help to Balcom, and he was eliminated in 2nd place.

Level 9 is underway and registration is now closed for Flight B of the $365 no-limit hold'em re-entry event #2. The second of four starting flights drew 258 entries.  Yesterday's Flight A drew 252 entries, bringing the total to 510 entries for the first two flights.  At the end of Flight A, only 28 players remained. At the end of level 15, the Flight B players will bag up, and will return to play Day 2 on Sunday August 20th at 12:00 p.m.

Anyone that does not make it through to Day 2 in this morning's Flight B has another chance tonight at 5:00 p.m. in Flight C. There will also be a final Flight D on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The flop comes 1063 leaving Tryba's ace-queen in the lead.  He maintains that lead when the turn comes the 3, but Beauregard picks up chop outs.

"I thought that was going to be a diamond for sure," Tryba says as the pot is pushed over to him, "or a black eight. Yesterday I had a guy at the cage, and the dealer ran out a royal flush for a chop. That's how I run."

Facing a raise from Bobby Corcione in late position, Wayne Beauregard shoves all in from the blind, and Corcione snap-calls.

"Aces are light," tablemate Chris Tryba says as the flop comes Q6♠2.

The turn is the 10.

The river comes the A♠ increasing Beauregard's hand to two pair, and Tryba is shocked the case ace came on the board.

After this hand, Beauregard has the chip lead with just under 750,000 (62 bb).

Hand #2: 

Kevin Balcom raises to 25,000 on the button, and Wayne Beauregard calls in the small blind.

The flop comes J54♣.  Beauregard checks, Balcom bets 45,000, and Beauregard calls.

The turn is the A. Beauregard checks, Balcom bets 65,000, and Beauregard pauses for about 30 seconds before raising to 165,000 total.  Balcom goes deep into the tank, and after two full minutes have passed, he calls the extra 100,000.

The river is the 4.  Beauaregard quickly shoves all in, and Balcom snap calls.

Beauregard turns over 67♥ for missed straight and flush draws, and Balcom shows A♠3 for two pair to double up.

The dealer counts down his 263,000 chips, and passes the same amount over to him from Beauregard's stack.

After this hand, Balcom now has the chip lead.

"Chip lead," Tryba says while pointing to Beauregard. "Chip lead," he says again as he points to Balcom.  "Now, chip lead," he says as he points to himself.

"And then back to me," Corcione says with a slight smile.

Level 15 has just concluded, and the remaining 28 players have bagged up their chips.

Zach Donovan ended Flight A with the chip lead, having bagged 344,500. His closest competitor from the Flight A field is Ralph Macri who ended with 266,000. Other notables to make it through include Johanssy Joseph (247,500), and Bob Ricciuti (36,500).
